Happy Friday!
Happy Friday! Jummah Mubarak!
With the Wave Challenge around the corner, Alif2yaa and Nadoona would just like to remind our participants of what to expect:
I know there is a big hype around Mothers day- but lets remind ourselves that as Muslims our Mothers should be honored every day in Islam.
Husband if your reading this, please do not shower me with flowers or a hallmark card on Mothers day (Zakariya is not old enough to figure it out) but instead teach him from now to love/care for me on a daily basis Inshallah

10 Reasons to TOSS your Microwave
Ten Reasons not to Use Your Microwave Oven
Based on Swiss, Russian and German clinical studies
1.Continually eating food processed from a microwave oven causes long term, permanent, brain damage by "shorting out" electrical impulses in the brain [de-polarizing or de-magnetizing the brain tissue].
2.The human body cannot metabolize [break down] the unknown by-products created in micro-waved food.
3.Male and female hormone production is shut down and/or altered by continually eating micro-waved foods.
4.The effects of micro-waved food by-products are residual [long term, permanent] within the human body.
5.Minerals, vitamins, and nutrients of all micro-waved food is reduced or altered so that the human body gets little or no benefit, or the human body absorbs altered compounds that cannot be broken down.
6.The minerals in vegetables are altered into cancerous free radicals when cooked in a microwave oven.
7.Micro-waved foods cause stomach and intestinal cancerous growths [tumors]. This has been a primary contributor to the rapidly increased rate of colon cancer in the United States.
8.The prolonged eating of micro-waved foods causes cancerous cells to increase in human blood.
9.Continual ingestion of micro-waved food causes immune system deficiencies through lymph gland and blood serum alterations.
10.Eating micro-waved food causes loss of memory, concentration, emotional instability, and a decrease of intelligence.

RELEASE PRIORITY: CLASS I ROO1a
All this research is really getting me motivated to decrease the amount of microwave usage around the house. I am hoping to eventually get rid of our microwave completely but there are little voices in my head telling me to keep it around. The main concern being when it comes to having people come over. How will warm up large quantity of food quickly without the microwave?
I think I may consider getting a second toaster oven because having my stainless steel cube staring me in the face- will tempt me to push its start button! I realize this sounds drastic for some of you but I have been wanting to make this change for our family for a long time and I am ready to go cold turkey! As Queen of my kitchen I have to ensure that my family gets the best and if using a microwave even slightly compromises that then I would not be much of a Queen.
The fact that really got to me was #5.Minerals, vitamins, and nutrients of all micro-waved food is reduced or altered so that the human body gets little or no benefit, or the human body absorbs altered compounds that cannot be broken down. I feel like I put a lot of effort into our meals and it would literally be a waste if I stuck that food in the microwave.
Convenience has its cost.
What are your thoughts? Will it be easier said than done? Is it worth the effort?
If your ready to commit to change- join the Wave Challenge, it starts with 24 hours! Click here to face the challenge!

Microwaved Water Study
"Below is a science fair project that my granddaughter did for 2006. In it she took filtered water and divided it into two parts. The first part she heated to boiling in a pan on the stove, and the second part she heated to boiling in a microwave. Then after cooling she used the water to water two identical plants to see if there would be any difference in the growth between the normal boiled water and the water boiled in a microwave. She was thinking that the structure or energy of the water may be compromised by microwave. As it turned out, even she was amazed at the difference."
This information does not belong to me. I received this in an email and was not able to correctly source the author for their great contribution.
I have to say- the results are pretty disturbing. I might consider printing this out and posting it on my refrigerator as a reminder and some motivation... especially at times when the microwave seems convenient!
Can you imagine what all the microwaved food we eat is doing to our insides?

Our Week in Pictures
So the past month has been FULL of wedding festivities. My cousin has married her bearded prince- May Allah bless their marriage and make them a comfort and coolness for each others eyes and hearts, Ameen.
The interesting part about this wedding was that the Wedding and Reception were on separate weekends. This added to the "never ending-ness" of the wedding but to make matters more interesting Reception was out of town.
We packed up our backs and road trip'd across Ontario for a fun filled family weekend. Alhumdulillah!
Here is a blurb of what the past few weeks have looked like:

Here is a blurb of what the past few weeks have looked like:
1. Family shot at the wedding... Of course if you could see our faces the picture would not qualify for the blog. Its so hard getting family shots- we were all looking in different directions
2. Stopping over in Detroit to do some shopping with family... Zakariya is still wearing his hats everywhere- Mashallah
3. Zaki & Nusi- being in love and all (as usual) with their matching shirts. There marriage was arranged at birth.... joking ;)
4. My little guy loving his first ever metal belt buckle
5. After party in PJs at our house
6. Mama & Baba summer drinks- lemonade and water
7. The cake!
